Obama’s commitment to cutting emissions and increasing renewable energy

Barack Obama is leading the way in tackling climate change: the US President, on March 19, signed an executive order that requires the federal government to cut its greenhouse gas emissions 40% over the next decade from 2008 levels. At the same time, the President called on the government to increase its share of energy from renewable supplies to 30% during the same period.
