Giant asteroid impact discovered in central Australia

Ancient asteroid impacts once again in the news: According to the outcomes of a recent research led by Dr. Andrew Glikson, at Australian National University, between 300 and 450 Ma ago, a gigantic asteroid, at least 20 km in diameter, slammed the Earth in an area corresponding to today’s central Australia.
